Mexican driver Ricardo Sanchez has joined the Spanish-Swedish team SPV Racing for the 2018 Michelin Le Mans Cup in the LMP3 category. Ricardo who is a FIA silver driver will be teamed up with SPV Racing bronze drivers Alvaro Fontes and Andy Cummings through the season.

Ricardo has a unique career despite his young age; he was the inaugural Nissan PlayStation GT Academy Inter- national Race Camp winner in 2014. To be rst among hundreds of thousands Gran Turismo gamers is not easy but for Ricardo it paid off – he became a regular NISMO race driver. He has now competed for three seasons in the Blancpain Endurance Series and the Pirelli World Challenge with Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3.

In 2017 Ricardo had his first experience with Le Mans Prototypes when he drove the Oreca LMP2 in the Euro- pean Le Mans Series final race at Portimao.

Ricardo Sanchez says,

– I look forward to be back in Europe competing on race tracks that I know. A full season in this competitive championship will be a real challenge for me.

– I have two very good bronze drivers with me and SPV Racing has proven that their Ligier LMP3 is fast so we are aiming for podiums and hope to be a contender in the overall championship.
